Legal Ed. Council meets in Belize
A bunch of lawyers in a room might make most people nervous, but we are assured this time that’s not the case. Earlier today, the Council for Legal Education, which provides professional training for people wishing to qualify as lawyers throughout the region, held it’s executive meeting at the Radisson. Dennis Morrison who has served as chairman of the council for the past three years says the issues discussed are pertinent to the region.

“The principals would each give a report as to what has been happening in their schools, suggest their issues about new facilities that they need. The work of the schools is constantly under review, so we will have updates as to suggestions for changes in curriculum and matters such as that, but it’s mainly a financial meeting. We have an annual executive committee meeting to approve budgets, look at financial matters and any other matters of policy. It’s usually held the last Friday of January of each year and this year we’re in Belize.”
The Council of Legal Education was established in 1971.
