Pathlight International to Establish Teacher Educator Centres in all Districts
As a part of the work that the Pathlight International is doing in Belize, they have also established teacher educator centers. There are already two centers – one in Belmopan and another in Belize City. The plan is to set up more of these centers; at least one in each district. C.E.O. of Pathlight International Roger Dermody explains how these centers are supporting teachers to do their jobs.

“It’s a space that teachers can come to; they can do some of their printing, some of their laminated work. They can check out different resources. They can consult with some of our educators on how to best or more effectively to use the curriculum that the ministry provides to teach the subject matter. We have major grants through Rotary International and Rotary Sunrise here in Belize City and Rotary Seven Springs been given the resources to provide the materials to open a new teacher educator centre in all six districts. The ministry has actually offered us spaced in their district offices to house those teacher educations centres. So we are excited that there will be an opportunity for teachers throughout the country to have access to these centres.”
