Someone Wanted Anthony Crawford Dead

Thirty-five-year-old Anthony Crawford, no stranger to the law, remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. tonight, following an attempt on his life while on his way home on Monday night.  Sometime around eight o’clock, Crawford was riding a bicycle along Antelope Street Extension when he was ambushed and fired upon by an unknown individual.  Crawford was shot in the chest when his assailant emerged from a nearby yard and discharged a firearm in his direction.  In 2016, Crawford was remanded after being charged with attempted murder when he reportedly shot thirteen-year-old Shanaya Whylie in the face.  Just prior to that incident he was out on bail for allegedly shooting another man in the left side of the chest.  News Five understands that during the Monday night attack on Crawford, the gunman attempted to fire multiple times at him but the weapon reportedly jammed.
