Major drainage works tie up boulevard
Motorists travelling on Central American Boulevard are asked to approach with caution when driving from Racoon Street to Neal Penn Road. The east side of that section of the Boulevard has been closed and the west side has been divided into two lanes. The closure is the result of drainage works currently being carried out to allow the free flow of water into the North Creek Canal. The closure is expected to last for three months and motorists are being asked to observe the fifteen mile per hour speed limit. According to the Belize City Council, more streets will be closed in the future and they will be meeting on Thursday with the project’s consultant to see how the situation can be managed for the least inconvenience to the public. The lack of parking will be a particular concern.
