Acid toting woman injures 8 in Bz. City club

Story Picture
An acid toting bembe intent on executing a little country justice in a Belize City nightspot has left eight people suffering from multiple burns. According to police reports, Dorris Martinez, also known as Munchie, entered the Zone nightclub on Slaughterhouse Road around 5 o’clock on Sunday afternoon, armed with a bottle of acid and on the lookout for Jacqueline Henry. Apparently, Henry and Martinez were not on the best of terms as they had previously had a misunderstanding. When Martinez saw Henry she threw the contents of the bottle at her, injuring Henry and seven other partygoers, who were playing dominoes at the time, before taking flight. All eight injured people were taken to the K.H.M.H. where they were treated for burns to their faces, hands and eyes. A check with hospital authorities today reveal that all persons involved have been released or voluntarily discharged themselves. Police are now asking for the public’s help in locating Dorris “Munchie” Martinez in connection with this incident.
