Zitro in Ladyville is Hit by Brazen Armed Robbers
Since the last police press brief on Monday, there have been little to no criminal activities reported; that is, except for two robberies that occurred in downtown Belize City and in Ladyville. On Tuesday, Zitro International Western Union Branch was targeted by two armed thieves. They entered barefaced and were able to bypass the security before robbing the cashier. As the employee told News Five today, she is still traumatized by the incident. CIB Commander, Assistant Superintendent Alejandro Cowo says that police are looking for two persons, known to them.

“Just after ten this morning, police visited that location where they spoke to the employees and the security who explained to police that while they were conducting business, two dark complexioned male persons entered the establishment—one armed with a firearm, the other with a knife. The one with the firearm knocked the security guard several times on his person and there after demanded money from the cashier. As a result, she handed over one thousand eight hundred dollars in cash, which was proceeds from the western union.”

“Sir, where is police with that investigation. Is it believe that it’s persons right from Ladyville that carried out the crime or that we are seeing criminals from Belize City going that side?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“We believe that it is one person from Ladyville and one person from Belize City.”
