U.D.P. Says ‘YES’ to the I.C.J.

The United Democratic Party has taken the official position to support taking Guatemala’s claim on Belize to the International Court of Justice for final resolution. A release from the party says that a National Party Council met on Saturday in Belize City where, among other party business, the matter of submitting the Guatemalan claim to the International Court of Justice was discussed at length. The release states that ‘a subsequent vote, taken on the subject, resulted in a resounding unanimous decision to fully support a “YES” vote. We are told that the National Party Council also discussed the date for the U.D.P. leadership convention. Plans for setting a date are being finalized.
