Gang Rivalry Leads to Shooting in Mahogany Heights
A fifty-one-year-old man was also shot in Mahogany Heights on Saturday. Police say that sometime around one-thirty in the afternoon, security guard Rodwell Cuthkelvin was on his motorcycle when a man shot him. Police say investigation shows that the shooting resulted from a gang rivalry between two sparring groups in the Mahogany Heights Community. ASP Alejandro Cowo shares the details of this shooting.

“Mr. Rodwell Cuthkelvin, a fifty-one year old security guard, was riding his motorcycle on an unnamed street in the Mahogany Heights area along with another male person and whilst they were travelling towards the George Price Highway, a male person who was standing on the road side fired several shots in their direction which caused him to receive an injury to his right hand. He was admitted, treated and discharged on the same day.”

“Yes, we understand that it may have been a dispute among two gangs that are based at Mahogany Heights which caused this shooting and other previous altercation in Mahogany Heights.”
