Cheebos Goes Off on Police Department

Twenty-one-year-old Marcos Zelaya remains hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, following a brazen attempt on his life on Saturday morning. He was reportedly riding a bicycle along Complex Avenue when he was pursued by several persons inside a vehicle. One of them opened fire on Zelaya, hitting him in the right shoulder and upper back. The incident was witnessed by the young man’s father, who has since gone on record to put forward that his son’s shooting was retribution for the New Year’s Day slaying of a well-known gang leader who resided in the area. Despite being able to clearly make out his son’s attacker, Jose Zelaya Senior says he will not provide a statement to investigators. Instead, he offers a searing criticism of the police department. The frustrated parent, who lost another son to crime and violence eight months ago, says that officers are more adept at locating found property than they are solving crimes and bringing criminals to justice.
