Domestic dispute ends in stabbing

A woman is in police custody tonight for attacking her boyfriend after she found him with another lover. According to police, fifty-one year old Terry Copeland and Lois Garbutt lived in a house together on Caye Chapel, but on Wednesday evening Garbutt arrived home only to find Copeland with another woman. The couple got into an altercation after which Garbutt left for Caye Caulker and later returned with police to arrest Copeland for wounding. He was charged and later released on bail. Later that same night, Garbutt returned home apparently still incensed and chopped Copeland in his head. He is being treated at the Caye Caulker Health Centre for his injury. Garbutt has been detained but no charges have yet been filed against her.
