Fr. Raszkowski succumbs to illness in St. Louis

News 5 has also learned that this morning Jesuit priest Robert Raszkowski succumbed to illness in the United States. Raszkowski was being cared for at a Jesuit nursing home in St. Louis, Missouri since August of this year. He first came to Belize in 1940 to teach Latin and English for three years at Saint John’s College. He later returned in 1948 and served as headmaster of the school, superior of the Jesuit Mission and later, became a lecturer at both the high school and sixth form. Raszkowski served as pastor of San Pedro for forty years. Father Raszkowski will be buried on December twenty-sixth in St. Louis, but a memorial mass will be held in Belize just after New Years.
