Former security guard pleads guilty to burglary
Also in the courts, thirty-eight year old former security guard George Banner had a change of heart and pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary. Because Banner does not have a previous conviction, Magistrate Albert Hoare fined him three thousand dollars instead of handing out a custodial sentence. He was given until June fourth to pay the fine. Banner was on duty at Bucaneer Landing at Mile five on the Western Highway when the incident occurred last October twenty-eighth. Banner was captured on a surveillance camera breaking into the establishment by going through a small slide window between the bar and kitchen. He was seen drinking beer and stout stumbling with a bottle on his head.
