Wood carvings look good under Christmas trees
We’ve shown you pins, we’ve shown you books. We’ve even taste-tested a bit of the bubbly, all in the name of giving you ideas for Christmas gifts. If nothing you’ve seen so far has impressed you, we’re going to try again. This afternoon, Ann-Marie travelled to Belmopan to meet a man about some wood, carvings that is.
Johnny Chiang, Owner, Art Box
“I would suggest a wine holder with a bottle of wine would be a great gift for most friends. The letter openers are very nice for office people, and the salad bowl is nice for the home.”

“We have cigar box, cutting boards, wine holders that most people like. Napkin rings, most families love these, they look very nice around the table, and most importantly, they’re made from local wood like zericote, mahogany or rosewood.”
Chiang also has a wide array of furniture.

“A lot of people buy them for gifts. People very love our products, they really love their own countries arts and crafts.”

If you’re looking for something small, inexpensive and different, Chiang has a suggestion–zericote carvings.
Johnny Chiang
“These are mostly from the local artists. They are very different, very unique, animals, birds, and sometimes a human body and things like that.”
