Evidential Material Being Gathered in Dwayne Cummings Murder Probe
The murder of star athlete Dwayne Cummings last Sunday in Orange Walk Town remains unsolved, despite investigators following several leads in an attempt to crack the case. The twenty-one-year-old basketball player who was a member of the Orange Walk Running Rebels was shot dead as he walked home in the early hours of February tenth. His death has shocked the UB student body where he was a promising youth. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett, inroads are being made in respect of evidence being gathered. He stopped short of confirming whether they are actively seeking any suspects.

“I would say yes we have because we have been following on several leads where certain information was gathered and as a result of that certain matters or materials of evidential value was retrieved and those were taken to the lab. So it is just a matter for us to await the lab results whilst we continue with the investigation and following up on other leads.”

“Have any suspects been identified?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“At this point in time I would not want to reveal whether or not those from whom the evidence was retrieved are suspects or they are directly involved.”
