S.J.C. students score points in school expo

With exam week only a few days away for most students, the heat is on to leave teachers with a good impression. Such was the case on the campus of Saint John’s Junior College as it hosted the school’s annual business Expo. The aspiring entrepreneurs practised their public relations skills with News 5’s Jacqueline Woods this morning.

For the last seven years, S.J.C. Junior College has been holding an expo fair. The students’ presentations have not only grown in numbers but in creativity as well.

Lloyd Enriquez, Head, Business Department

“This year I’m really seeing some very innovative products. Some that I actually believe could be marketed for real, if the students actually wanted to take that time and effort and risk to do that. I think we have a lot of original products this year, much more than last year.”

The marketing course what we regard as the capstone course, whereby they have to create viable, realistic, creative, original products that could probably be marketed in the Belizean society.”

Students from other high schools also attended the event and got to view some of the students’ productions and may have been inspired to attend S.J.C. Junior College. Reporting for News 5, Jacqueline Woods.

News 5 understands that using the experience gathered from the expo, at least two sets of students have gone on to create real companies.
