Body found in Mopan River
The body of a man has been found in the Mopan River near the Western Highway. Police reports are that on Thursday, San Ignacio officers found the lifeless body of a Hispanic man partly submerged in the river bearing visible signs of violence. The body carried no means of identification, but police believe he was in his late fifties. The man was dressed in long blue jeans, checkered shirt and a pair of black shoes. Police suspect foul play as there was a blood stained stick found lying on the riverbank near the body.
