Taiwan donates big to new foreign affairs building
The Taiwanese Ambassador has presented the Government of Belize with a cheque valued at just under a million Belize dollars. This morning, Ambassador Charles Tsai handed over approximately four hundred and sixteen thousand U.S. dollars to Prime Minister Said Musa. The money is part of the Government of Republic of China on Taiwan’s commitment to aid in the modernization of Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to P.M. Musa, plans to begin construction of a new building for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belmopan are already underway. Today’s donation is part of the fifth stage of a project by the R.O.C.T. to improve the Foreign Ministries in all Central American countries. News 5 understands that Belize will be receiving two more cheques for this project.
