Remnants of another Drug Plane in Blue Creek
The area of Blue Creek in northern Belize continues to be a hot spot for drugs and illegal plane landings. Police have confirmed that another illegal aircraft, likely a drug plane, landed in Orange Walk District. This past Tuesday, police found what was left of a single engine aircraft at a farm about eighteen kilometres south east of Blue Creek. The plane had been set on fire as is the modus operandi of narco traffickers after unloading illegal cargo. Police found three aircraft seats, three fifty litre containers and twelve containers of aviation fuel. No arrests have been made. Last year in September, a drug plane landed in area of Tres Leguas in Blue Creek carrying one thousand two hundred and twenty-six pounds of cocaine. Commanding Officer of the Orange Walk formation, Superintendent David Chi was arrested and charged along with Police Constable Norman Anthony and Peter Friesen Junior. Other drug planes have been landed elsewhere in the north and south, but arrests have been far and few.
