Jovy Carballo is Shot at During Ambush on Raccoon Street Ext.
A resident of Lake Independence is lucky to have escaped serious injury when he came under gunfire a long way from home on Tuesday night. Thirty-two-year-old Jovy Carballo was driving along Raccoon Street Extension when shots were fired in his direction. The vehicle was hit twice and fortunately the driver was only grazed during the incident. According to police, the shooting was the result of a personal misunderstanding between Carballo and nineteen-year-old Keenan Young, who has since been arrested and charged.

“There was a shooting incident on Tuesday night, just about minutes before nine p.m., police responded to shots fired at Raccoon Street Extension and as a result they visited Faber’s Road Extension where they met with a male person by the name of Jovy Carballo. He is thirty-two years of age of a McKay Boulevard address. He reported to police that minutes before, he was driving his green in color vehicle on Tommy Lee Crawford Street when he was approached by a male person who fired shots in his direction. As a result, he sped off, collided into a fence and managed to drive up to Faber’s Road Extension where the vehicle came to a halt. Police inspected the vehicle and observed that it had two bullet holes on it. Based on that, police detained a male person, that person is Keenan Young, nineteen years of age and as a result he was, on Wednesday, arrested and charged for the crime of damage to property, harm and use of deadly means of harm and aggravated assault. He received a minor injury to his hand.”
