ComPol says Operations Will Target Criminals and Dirty Cops
The commissioner also told the media that they will be coming down hard on the criminals – not just to apprehend them, but to make sure that they are held accountable for their actions. Williams says that while they will be doing a clean out of the criminals, they will also flush out those dirty cops who may be involved in these criminal activities.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“To those who have the tendency of singing police brutality and police this and police that, I want to say that it is our intention, and I say it with no apologies, to go hard at those persons who are creating havoc within these communities. And we are going to use the force that is necessary within the ambits of the law to achieve our objectives. If it is that we go to your house and you are not involved, just work with us and be a bit patient with us. Sometimes, to achieve what we want to achieve, the good end up suffering for what the bad may have done. Yes, we are not perfect organization. Yes, we will use our intelligence to go after those that we need to go after. But at the end of the day, I am sure that you will understand that sometimes intelligence do falter and we might end up in wrong places and it is not intentional but it is a part of the process and we ask that you do be a bit more patient with us. We are also looking at the potential involvement in these activities and once those officers are identified, we are going to root them out of Punta Gorda as well because at the end of the day we cannot have officers who are supposed to be law abiding and for them to be in cahoots with these criminals.”
