Expat stabbed and robbed; two charged!
Also in the south, an American national was attacked and robbed inside his home in Hopkins on Saturday. Seventy-three-year-old Thomas Shannon reported that two armed men broke into his home, sprayed him with bug spray, stabbed and tied him up. The men stole cell-phones, a laptop and other gadgets. Shannon reportedly freed himself and got help from a business in his neighborhood. Police have arrested and charged Steve Crawford and Carel Sanchez with aggravated burglary, theft, and handling stolen goods. The men appeared before Senior Magistrate Patricia Arana, were denied bail and remanded to prison until May of this year. On Wednesday, Southern Regional Commander Senior Superintendent Sandra Bodden shared the details of the home invasion.

“He reported that two persons entered his home; one with a firearm and one with a knife. The person with the knife inflicted a stab wound to him. Stolen from him was his motor-vehicle, a cell-phone and a laptop. So far the vehicle has been recovered by Hattieville Police and we have two persons detained they are one Steve Crawford Junior and Carel Sanchez. They will be charged today with aggravated burglary among other charges.”
