Albert Valentine is Charged for PG Shooting Incident

Albert Valentine

As we said, Punta Gorda police are yet to make an arrest in a double homicide that has rocked the southern community, but they have been able to make progress in another investigation which preceded the murders of Kevin Moro and Oscar Humes.  Earlier today, twenty-four-year-old Albert Valentine, a resident of Punta Gorda, was arraigned on a slew of firearms-related offenses.  The arraignment follows a shooting incident on Monday morning during which Valentine allegedly opened fire at a residence near the heart of the town.  He has since been charged with one count of aggravated assault, kept firearm without a gun license, kept ammunition without a gun license and discharged firearm in public.   On Monday, Police Constable Marcos Choc was on motorcycle patrol when he reportedly encountered Albert Valentine and Adwan Usher.  The men fired multiple shots in the direction of a house and then attempted to flee on bicycles.  Police were later able to recover a firearm and both men were subsequently arrested.  Of note is that Valentine was acquitted of a single charge of murder in November 2017, after being accused of killing taxi driver Antonio Rodriguez.
