BPP Bun Fyah Pan Elections & Boundaries
The Belize Progressive Party is blasting the Elections and Boundaries Department for not including them as Referendum Monitors on April tenth. The department sent out a list on Tuesday inviting entities to participate but did not invite the B.P.P. or other small parties. The B.P.P. notes that it has been an active and legitimate party for years and has contested general and municipal elections. It says it is dismayed, disappointed and alarmed at its exclusion from the list of Referendum Monitors. The B.P.P. deplores and condemns in the strongest possible term the egregious, unconscionable and divisive act and calls on the department to remedy this blight on the principles of good governance and accountability. It closes off a release stating that there is no place in Belize for the petty and divisive politics of the P.U.D.P. – especially in regards to the national existential issue of the threat posed by Guatemala.
