Attorney General Lashes Out at PUP Over Vital Stats Video
The myriad of complaints on the way things run at the Vital Statistics are well-known. Aside from the long lines and missing records, the issue of political interference has been a recurring complaint. Earlier this week, a video surfaced showing a well-known U.D.P. runner identified as Michael Flowers from the U.D.P. secretariat, very much within the Unit having access to files and archives that members of the public should not have. The video made its way to the P.U.P.’s Vibes radio. In fact the P.U.P. very recently protested the state of affairs at the Unit. Well, the Attorney General has taken umbrage to the video saying that it diminishes the efforts to improve services at the Unit. The A.G. also states that the incident happened before steps were started to improve services. Information to his station suggests that political operatives are still gaining special access to the office and as recent as last Friday they were photographed. In any case, political operatives should not at any time, have access to the work at the Unit.
