Compol says that the Police will continue to pursue criminals

Chester Williams

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams had good words to say about the bravery of the cops who responded to the shootout at the border. He praised their bravery and said that the authorities can do more if the public cooperates. He told the media that the police are doing their best to respond to the violence – and he believes that their strategies are working.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“I just want to give the Belizean people the assurance that the Belize Police department continue to remain vigilant across the country. We continue to run operations across the country with a view to minimize the occurrences of crimes, particularly robberies and murders. We would like to also commend the good men and women who are out there on a daily basis ensuring that our objectives are achieved. Like Mr. Vidal said, they are everyday out there putting their lives on the line. Often times we find ourselves under fire but nonetheless those do not deter us from continuing to pursue these criminals. We will continue to pursue them wherever they go through breadth of this country.”

The Commissioner of Police will be holding a public meeting in Punta Gorda at the Complex Building on Friday evening at five. He says that the purpose is to listen to the concerns and ideas of the residents so that they can work together to address the scourge of violence in the southern town. The commissioner will be accompanied by his senior management team.
