“This is the presentation workshop for the National Land Use Planning framework implementation road map and action plan. This component of a project, it’s one single component of a larger project, a World Bank project called the Belize Climate Resilient Infrastructure Project. It’s being implemented by the Government of Belize and the Social Investment Fund. The Ministry of National Resources is responsible for implementing two components of that project. The Ministry of Works is responsible for several other components. For the Ministry of Natural Resources, one component is the development of the Belize National Spatial Data Infrastructure, the BNSDI. This one that we are doing today, the presentation of that implementation roadmap is the updating of a 2011 land use policy that includes the design and the development of a land suitability mapping tool and that will be included in this presentation today.”
