4 Charged for Robbery at Northern Border
Four persons have been charged and arraigned for the brazen robbery of money changers at the northern border on Thursday morning. The four men, Eugene Myers, Zander Myers, Randolph Crawford and Joshua Hall, were all charged with robbery, unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Corozal Magistrate’s Court. Myers, Crawford and Hall were slapped with additional attempted murder charges. The crime was captured by surveillance cameras and showed how the men armed with weapons approached the unsuspecting peseros before jumping into an SUV, which sped off towards Corozal Town. Two other alleged robbers are hospitalized and are expected to be charged as soon as they are released. ACP Joseph Myvett tells us more about the charges. He also responded to the allegations being made by the family of the accused robbers.

“The attempted murder charges are based on the shots fired at the officers?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Yes. Yes they were. During the incident or as soon as they came in to custody and certain procedures were followed, they were taken to the Corozal Community Hospital and later transferred to the Northern Regional Hospital. And from there two were released into police custody and as a result of that those two were charged along with the other two who were out.”

“Sir, I believe one of the family members also made an allegation that one of the guys [Crawford] picked up had nothing to do with that robbery?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Yes, we heard that allegation too as well. However, as was previously mentioned in a press briefing, officers were on an investigation at the border, saw those persons got into the vehicle and officers pursued the vehicle.”
Andrea Polanco
“So, Crawford was inside the vehicle?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Yes. He was.”
