Ladyville Cops to Face Disciplinary Charges over Stolen T-Shirts

Chester Williams

Police officers attached to the Ladyville formation are being accused of stealing t-shirts. Yes, you heard right—t-shirts. According to reports, cops seized a bag of t-shirts that was on a bus and when the owner received the baggage, most of the shirts were gone. Those shirts were reportedly shared among officers of the Ladyville Police Station. Now, it is reported that there is an ongoing investigation and that as many as six cops may be facing disciplinary charges. Today, Commissioner Williams was asked to comment on the matter.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“Yes, we do have that complaint and Mr. Dawson has been tasked to deal with that investigation. Again, it will have a lot to do with what the complainant wants. But even if the complainant doesn’t want anything, we are still going to pursue the matter internally. I have given directive that the officers concerned must be placed on disciplinary charges and must compensate the man back for his shirts. If that is not done then we will see what else we can do but I can assure the public that it will not go unpunished.”

“One of these officers is even a special branch officer we have learnt – six police officers di thief shirts. Your heart swelled with pride you told Mr. Vidal when this incident happened in PG; at the same time these things have to make you very downcast?”

Chester Williams

“Of course because it takes away from the public trust and confidence that we are trying to build. The public is still looking at us to see what we are doing to address it. As I said before, we have always tried to do our best to address ill-disciplined behaviors on the part of our officers and we will continue to do that. Sometimes we don’t get the results that we want but at the end of the day we still send a message to the others that we are not here to encourage them in their corrupt behavior or in terms of them abusing people. We do not stand for that.”
