Security Guard Shot by Would-Be Robbers at Prosser Fertilizers

A sixty-four-year-old security guard remains hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital recovering from gunshot wounds to the buttocks and leg. He was shot by four robbers who gained access to the compound of Prosser Fertilizers and Agrotec Company Limited by cutting through the perimeter fence. They would target the security guard to the entrance to the compound, but escaped empty-handed after the injured security guard opened fire at his attackers. Today, sales manager Wilmont Simmons spoke to News Five saying that the company has security cameras and personnel stationed at strategic points across the compound and the incident is unfortunate.

“Our security guard at the booth was ambushed. Apparently four or five robbers/thieves came in, sneaked into the compound. They gained access through our chain-linked fence to the rear of the compound and cut it open and sneaked in and ambushed one of the security officers. He was shot at through the security booth; apparently through the window. He was shot in his upper thigh, like his buttocks and he was also shot in the leg. We don’t know if he was being attacked personally or to rob him or to rob the company, but he did manage to shoot back and that caused them to flee. He is in the hospital right now as we speak so we have not interviewed him as such. He is still in the trauma room and they are trying to take out the bullets. So we have not spoken to him to know exactly what happened but he shot back. We don’t know if he injured any of the robbers but they ran off.”
