Fatal RTA on Hummingbird Highway claims one life

Another person lost his life over the weekend, this time it was on the Hummingbird Highway. Police say that a senior citizen was knocked down within Belmopan City limits on Sunday night sometime after seven. It is not clear what caused the accident, but police say blood samples have been taken from the driver and the victim.

“Upon arrival they observed the apparent lifeless body of a Hispanic male later identified as sixty-three-year-old Guatemalan Pablo Hernandez of Las Flores. Initial investigation reveals that Flores was riding his bicycle north bound when he was apparently knocked down from a vehicle behind. The vehicle didn’t stop and was later intercepted by police in Hattieville. So, that vehicle is now impounded and one person is in custody pending this investigation.”
