Elderly man shot during blackout in Belize City

An elderly man was shot on Monday night in Belize City. Police say that around seven-forty, sixty-three-old Gilroy Garnett was walking on Partridge Street when a man approached him and fired several shots at him. One of the bullets caught Garnett in the right lower abdomen and exited his right lower back. He is now hospitalized in a critical condition at the K.H.M.H. Residents in the area told us that they heard the shots shortly after the area experienced a temporary black-out.
