U.B. fundraises for scholarship programme
Tonight, the University of Belize is holding a fundraising dinner to finance a scholarship program for Belizean students. The event is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Musa, who will officially launch the program designed to benefit students demonstrating outstanding academic abilities. Students from the southern districts have already been highlighted as the first prospective recipients of the scholarships. Belizean soloist Nelita Castillo and Mexican Pianist Carolyn Valero will entertain guests at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Hotel. The University of Belize, an amalgamation of five tertiary level institutions, has an enrolment of three thousand students.
