G.O.B. faces great challenges
The P.M. also discussed the recent announcement from Cabinet that government will be revising the budget to cut back on expenditures.
Prime Minister Said Musa
“When we redesign this project and reprioritise, we have to make sure that that budget addresses the real needs and concerns of our people. Often times we see the need for big infrastructural projects, and in terms of nation-building, you do need that. But we must never lose sight of the fact and ask ourselves the question: is this project going to benefit those little people down there? Are we creating employment, sufficient employment? Are we doing enough to train our people? We have a class of unemployables people say. What can we do to bring these people into the money economy, to make them fully responsible for their own lives. So there are challenges, great challenges ahead of us.”
