Did a Parliamentarian Share Teacher’s Nude Pics?
Earlier in the year a female teacher at Muffle College High School in Orange Walk Town was asked to resign after nude pictures of her were circulated. The teacher resisted and the matter is expected to go before the courts. Today in the Senate, B.N.T.U. President Elena Smith brought up the issue, alleging that one of her colleagues has been accused of not only making rude remarks on the matter, but also sharing the pictures.

“It is very sad to note that in terms of that matter, one of my own colleagues has been accused of taking those pictures of that teacher and sharing those pictures with the public and making some very rude comments about that teacher. We talked about protecting our women of abuse and we must be the example of that. So if that is the way that we are going to be behaving in this chamber, what are we saying or how serious are we about protecting our women. And then it makes you ask certain questions: is it because there are allegations that some of our own parliamentarians are abusive? Why some of us don’t see these things as important? Maybe because we are women these things touch us and there are many who are touched as well but unfortunately not all of us have gotten to that point. Let us not be encouraging these sorts of things. And I know you might be wondering, what I am saying or who I am talking to but if you know you are not guilty then there is no need to worry.”
