A Young Motorist is Killed in Accident in Santa Elena

Another person lost his life in a traffic fatality bringing the number of deaths to seven in the past week. The latest victim is a nineteen-year-old motorist who collided into a vehicle as he rode his motorcycle along Loma Luz Boulevard on Thursday evening in Santa Elena Town.  Luis Enrique Cruz was injured and succumbed shortly before seven o’clock at the San Ignacio Hospital.  At the scene, police observed a red Lifan motorcycle extensively damaged on the left hand side of the road.  Their investigation later revealed that fifty-nine-year-old Eric Flowers was driving a Suzuki SUV in a West to East direction when Cruz crashed into the left side of his vehicle.  Flowers has since been detained pending the outcome of further investigation.
