A Major Drug Bust in Corozal

A well-known mechanic from Corozal is in big trouble with the law tonight after he was busted with over forty-five pounds of cannabis. Police are reporting that on Monday night around eleven-forty, officers conducted a search on a Ford F-150 pickup truck belonging to Joel Recinos. The forty-year-old resident of Calcutta Village in Corozal has been detained pending charges of drug trafficking. According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, the vehicle, which was parked on Recinos property, was impounded and taken to the police station where a detailed search of the vehicle led to the discovery of parcels of suspected cannabis stashed away in a gas tank. The suspected cannabis had combined weight of twenty point six-eight-three kilos.
