Two shopkeepers busted for illegal boledo

For those righteous citizens who complain that Chinese shops selling illegal boledo are never busted, there is some good news. On Friday night police arrested two Belize City shopkeepers for that crime. They are Dennis Chow of Freetown Road and Xing Ting Li of Second Street in King’s Park. The numerous sellers of illegal lottery make a larger profit for themselves and rob the treasury of revenue by failing to use the official lottery tickets, which must by bought from Government. There have been frequent allegations that police tend to go soft on this crime because they are frequently employed as private guards by the same shops that sell the illegal boledo.
