Three minors jack O.K. Store on C.A. Blvd

Three minors this morning jacked O.K. Shop located on Central American Boulevard. Shortly after seven, fifty-six year old businessman, Peng Shou Li and his wife were getting ready to start their regular store routine when the three brazen thieves with rags tied over their faces robbed them of monies and telephone cards. One of the robbers hit Li with an object that left a gash on his head and the three rode away on bicycles. News Five spoke with an eyewitness who told us what happened.

“I heard somebody screaming, call the police. So when I looked, I saw there was a commotion inside the shop so my immediate response was to take out my cell phone and called for help, which I did. And after I saw three young men, they had their faces covered, they jump over the fence where the Chinese’s yard, went into the neighbor’s yard and then they just jumped on their bicycles and road up the boulevard. About ten minutes later the police came.”

“This was during the time just before school and people were coming, noh?”

Voice of Eyewitness
“Yeah. There were couple students on the street when this happened, you know, couple people going to work. Their faces were completely covered. They had the red rags over their faces and they had the baggy clothes on so I didn’t get a good description.”

Duane Moody
“The Chinese business owner, I know you said they came out screaming, I understand that he sustained injuries or something of that sort?”

Voice of Eyewitness
“Yeah, I saw when the Chinese grocer came out, he had a lot of blood running from his head and his shirt was bloody.”

“At about seven-fifteen a.m. this morning, we received certain information of a robbery in progress on the corner of Central American Boulevard and Jane Usher. Police responded to the area where on arrival we discovered that a Belizean Chinese businessman was found with injuries sustained to his head. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he went on treatment. He was in stable condition. He was kept for observation. Initial investigation reveals that while at his house, three persons suppose to have approach the premises. One ordered something to purchase and when he opened the door the other two entered and attacked that person and suppose to hit him with something across his head which caused those injuries”

“Do you know whether it was a gun, sir?”

“No, from our investigation we understand that it was a piece of wood or two by four or a one by four or something but it was a piece of stick wood.”

“What did the three bandits get away with, sir?”

Supt. Julio Valdez
“At this point in time I didn’t see the amount but I’m very much sure that they went with some cash and some B.T.L. cards.”

“Do you guys have any leads as to who these young individuals that robbed these people are?”

Supt. Julio Valdez
“At this we have some certain suspects who we believed robbed the store. So we are looking for these persons who fit the description”

“But no one in custody?”

Supt. Julio Valdez
“No one in custody”
