Belizean Travellers Must Have Valid Passport of Mexican Border Card
According to the Officer in Charge of the Economic, Trade and Tourism Section of the Mexican Embassy, by law travellers will only be able to enter into Mexico with a valid passport or the Mexican border card for those Belizeans that have one.
On the Phone: Maria Fernanda Garrido, Officer in Charge, Economic, Trade & Tourism Section, Mexican Embassy in Belize
“By law every foreigner who wants to go into Mexico needs to have a valid passport to cross.”

“So Belizeans this weekend, because they are starting to travel over to Mexico for vacation, they must have a passport or one of the cards?”
On the Phone: Maria Fernanda Garrido
“Yes. Actually, like in every other year, they need to present the valid passport or if they hold a Mexican border card—that in Spanish we call it targeta de vistante regional—or if they have a card like that; they can cross. These are the only two documents valid to enter into Mexico.”
