Robbers on the Loose in Cayo
Robbers were on the loose on Tuesday in Cayo targeting business establishments. Just before closing on Tuesday night, the Lighthouse Restaurant on Border Road was hit by a duo of thieves. The proprietor of the restaurant, thirty-eight-year-old Yinghua Zheng told police that two men carrying what he believes to be a firearm, went inside his business and demanded money. Aside from the cash, the hungry robbers also took four fry chickens and a coke. Police have not yet made any arrests and the amount of stolen money is still unclear. Hours prior to the robbery at the Lighthouse, Julie’s Hardware Store which is located on Blue Bird Avenue, San Ignacio was targeted. Businesswoman, Maria Frazer, says that about two-thirty in the afternoon, two thieves entered the store, one was armed. Forty-nine-year-old Fraser says they demanded money and she handed over two cellular phones, a gold chain and available cash. Police are also investigating this robbery.
