National Fire Service as Ready as Can Be for Extended Weekend

But how ready is the National Fire Service to respond to fires should they erupt over the holidays? Smith says that given the limited resources they have, they are as ready as they can be.

“We are always staffed and I believe we know fully well the condition of our responding units at this point in time. Nonetheless we will do the best we can with the resources available to us. The police when we respond works quite well with us as well as the traffic department in terms of controlling traffic in and out of the area and scene security for us to work well.”
