“We advise the general public that upon traveling on the major highways, that you must be cognizant of other road users; persons riding motorcycles, bikes and drivers of other vehicles. We, as drivers, must be aware that we cannot be drinking and driving. We know that alcohol is one of the leading causes of death in the country and we ask the general public, that if you will be driving, do not consume alcohol and if you will be consuming please find another driver. Remember that your safety goes a long way and likewise we need to have in mind other people that are using the major highways. We also advise people who are leaving their houses to ensure that their house is properly secured; inform your neighbour to keep watch on your premises and if they see anything suspicious to call the police. Persons who will be going to sea and to the beaches, if you are drinking do not get into the water; do not leave minors unattended especially during this time when a large number of people will be in the water trying to cool off and enjoy themselves.”
