2 Women are Charged for Aggravated Assault with a Knife
Eighteen-year-old Danika Beaton, a resident of Dolphin Street, and Nicole Lamb, a pregnant domestic, have been charged with five counts of aggravated assault with a knife. They have also been charged with one count of wounding in connection with an attack on April seventh here in Belize City. It is alleged that the duo was involved in a street brawl with five other persons when the knife was produced. Both Beaton and Lamb appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where they were charged jointly for wounding Angela Bennett. It is alleged that a group of five women was socializing when they there were attacked.
Both women were offered bail. In the case of Danika Beaton who is facing six counts before the lower court, bail was granted in the sum of three thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. Meanwhile, Lamb was offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. Lamb was able to meet bail, while Beaton has been remanded to prison until she is able to do so.
