Two women injured in Newtown Barracks accident
In other news, a traffic accident early this afternoon left two women injured. Shortly before one p.m., thirty-six year old tour guide taxi driver, Mason Hutchinson, was traveling in his red Crown Victoria car towards B.T.L. Park on Newtown Barracks when upon approaching its intersection with New Access Area, his vehicle collided front on with a black Toyota Hilux pickup. Hutchinson and his passengers suffered injuries to the head and legs while the pickup was slightly damaged on the bumper. News Five was on the scene where Hutchinson says the incident occurred in the blink of an eye.

“As I di come along princess Margaret Drive, I di tek my time di come, I mean I neva mih di go too fast and I just see this black truck fly straight over and by di time I try break, the accident just happen like that, fast.”

“I had some people weh mih di visit fi dehn brother weh dehn mih drown enna the river weh drown. So I mih tek off di day because dehn she dehn mih wahn do so lee errands because we da old neighbors, so I just come down, come bring dehn, come get through with weh dehn mih wah do and this da weh happen.”

“What injuries did each one of you in the vehicle sustain, I notice that you have a big abrasion on your forehead, noh?

“From the impact I fly up into the roof. And then the young lady behind me, she fly from off of her seat, under the passenger seat and stuck there. So, they had to get the ambulance to took her out from under the seat because she mih lock with ih two knee dehn so ih couldn’t move and still neva mi di got feelings enna one ah ih right leg, so they carry da di medical Associates, I don’t know anything about her so far.”

“And the one in the front, I understand that she broke her leg, is that so?”
Mason Hutchinson
“No, she didn’t broke her leg. I know something wrong with her leg, her right leg too cause I see the dashboard broke. So I guess her feet—her leg hit the dashboard, you know. I noh really know whe happen up to now since they left to gone to the hospital.”

“Quarter to one.”

“Who were those people that were in the vehicle along with you, do you have their names?”
Mason Hutchinson
“They da di Kerr family from Ladyville whey just bury they brother weh drown in the river.”
In the vehicle with Hutchinson were Sharlan Longshaw, Michele Gomez, Marsha Kerr and Teran Martinez. The two injured women have since been released from the hospital.
