Neighbours’ quarrel end in gunshot
Neighbours fighting over the fence is hardly unusual, but it is time for concern when they start shooting each other. Reports to police are that twenty-five year old Gerald Dougal and twenty-seven year old Michael Martinez, next door neighbours on Central American Boulevard, got into an argument on Sunday afternoon. According to Dougal, Martinez walked away from the dispute only to return a short time later brandishing a twenty-gauge shotgun. It is alleged that Martinez fired a single shot in the direction of Dougal. Pellets from the shotgun blast hit Dougal on his right arm and Dougal’s twelve-year-old daughter in her thigh and elbow. Following the incident, police recovered the shotgun and empty cartridge and arrested Martinez. The list of charges against him includes attempted murder, grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm, wounding and discharging a firearm in public.
