More Winners of Scratch & Win Game

Scratch and Win is a relatively new game but it is already producing winners.  There are two more grand prize winners who collectively have cashed in at least twenty thousand dollars. One is from San Antonio, Cayo and the other from Caye Caulker. Both bought their tickets a couple of days ago and are now smiling all the way to the bank. Here is News Five’s Duane Moody.

Going into the weekend, there were more winners of the recently installed scratch and win game, including the winner of the first fifteen-thousand-dollar prize. It was all luck for San Antonio Villager, Ciriaco Canto, who bought tickets for the first time on Holy Thursday.

“I see everybody buying and scratching and I tell my wife I am going to try it. So I buy ten of them and I get one of them with fifteen thousand dollars.”

“I share it with my kids to give me the luck. I will try and buy a lee vehicle to travel to work because every day I hitchhike. So this will be good.”

Another five-thousand-dollar ticket was also collected, this time by a resident from Caye Caulker. Sixty-five-year-old Cornelio Canto Senior says that with the assistance of his grandkids, he was able to cash in on the grand prize from the one-dollar tickets he bought on Eastern Sunday. Canto Senior shared his plans for the winnings.

“I had some dollar ones and I tell ahn go in deh and check that out fi mi and right outside of the store, right in the golf cart we scratch them. Five thousand dollars; just like that. Easter Sunday; blessed Easter Sunday. The five thousand; definitely some have to stay in the bank. But I mi owe he wah bike because I ker fi he bike out wa time and they theif it from me. So I have to buy back wah bike fi he. Fi he one; dehn thief it out ah the yard. He use mines fi go dah school and when I want my bike fi go work I noh got; so I hve to buy two bike.”

And just like that, within less than a month, the folks over at Scratch and Win say that they have paid out over three hundred thousand plus dollars to winners across the country.

“I check just before this interview; we have paid out three hundred and eighty-one thousand dollars in prizes, so definitely a lot more than twenty thousand. Those are just the big winners, but we have a lot of people winning a hundred dollars, two hundred and fifty dollars; a thousand dollars. It’s a very simple game. You can purchase tickets for one dollar and the one-dollar ticket gives you a chance to win up to five thousand and the two-dollar ticket gives you a chance to win up to fifteen thousand dollars. And we are anxious to see who win those next prizes—could be tomorrow; it could be today.”
