Trio Freed of the San Pedro Murder of Retired American Cliff Kirk

There was a decision handed down today in the San Pedro Magistrate’s Court of Deborah Rogers where Christian Espat, Nigel Williams and a minor, were acquitted of murder charges in the shooting death of retired American national Cliff Kirk.  Kirk was attacked and shot to the head at his house on the north side of the island on July fifth, 2018 and died a few days later in the United States where he was taken for medical treatment.  The trio was also charged for Aggravated Burglary, Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. After almost a year of court trials, attorney Dickie Bradley was able to sway Magistrate Rogers that there was no evidence against the accused men and they were set free. Two statements were submitted to police by caretaker Victor Medina and Kirk’s wife, Linda. Medina claimed that two young men arrived at the property aboard a jet ski and asked for some fuel.  They later returned asking to borrow a cell phone and this is when two others emerged from nearby bushes and held him up. Medina also said that the men wore masks and that he could not recognize them. He was then taken to Kirk’s house where the shooting took place. Linda also told police that she could not recognize the assailants and so Bradley argued that there was no proper ID to place his clients at the scene. Magistrate Rogers dismissed the case, and the men were free to go.
