Pink’s Alley Resident Arraigned for Theft of Cell Phone
From an engine thief to a cell phone robber. Pink’s Alley resident, twenty-eight-year-old Michael Usher was before the court today for the theft of a seven hundred-dollar cell phone stolen from Michelle Brooks. On April thirteenth, Brooks’ phone was stolen while she was at a birthday party at Saint Mary’s Parish Hall. Brooks told the police that her phone was taken from the kitchen area while Usher was present. When asked, Usher said he had no knowledge of the phone, but when Brooks called her number, it rang and Usher fled. Police promptly intervened and found it on Usher. In court, he pleaded not guilty and was able to meet bail of one thousand dollars after clearing up an old bill of one hundred and five dollars. His next court date is set for June twenty-seventh, 2019.
