Danny Mason Back in Court; Seeking Attorney
The last time we reported on accused murderer, Danny Mason, was on the adjournment of his case back on March twenty-second. The case was deferred to give him time to secure new legal representation since attorneys Herbert Panton and Rachael Montejo were no longer representing him. Mason, along with Ashton Vanegas, Keiron Fernandez, Terrence Fernandez, and Ernest Henry Castillo, is accused with the chilling beheading of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas in July 2016. The pastor’s head was found inside a bucket in the pan of Mason’s vehicle that was parked outside a restaurant in Belmopan. Prior to the adjournment, as many as sixteen witnesses had been called to testify. The court was also shown video surveillance footage of Lucas and two other persons at Mason’s house on the hill in Belmopan. Lucas was also seen being escorted out of the house by two persons, one who had what appeared to have a knife as he walked behind the pastor. The video also captured two persons blindfolded and bound in Mason’s truck as he got behind the steering wheel. This morning, Mason was back in court where he announced that he is looking to get legal counsel from overseas to continue with his trial. He is due back in court on May fourteenth.
