Home Invasion in Sarteneja; 1 Man Charged
Up north in Corozal, one person has been charged in connection with a home invasion in Sarteneja. Noel Samuels has been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and handling stolen goods for the crime which occurred on Thursday morning. Reports are that just before two a.m. on May second, the home of Leomir Santoya was burglarized while he and his family slept inside. One of the thieves claimed to be a police officer and soon after three persons entered the home and conducted a search before making off with Santoya’s SUV and several items from the home. Police were soon after able to catch one of the suspected thieves and recover the vehicle.

“Sometime around two a.m., while himself and his family were at home in Sarteneja village, he heard a knock on his door and upon making checks, one person wearing black clothing who claim to be a police officer and stated that he was a police officer and requested entry into the premises. It was granted and he was later joined by two other persons. The home was ransacked where a number of items were taken including his Kia Sorento vehicle. Police investigation has since led to the arrest of Noel Samuels, where he has since been charged for the crime of aggravated burglary and handling stolen goods. The vehicle has since been recovered as well as a number of other items. Police are seeking two more persons in relation to this investigation.”
